Eska

The Eska display typeface was created in 1975 during a course led by Roman Tomaszewski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. It was designed by Maria Eska, then a fifth-year student, and was originally named Rugby. In 2025, to mark the typeface’s 50th anniversary, Mateusz Machalski began working on its digitization. Alongside the “Original” version, the project also introduced Eska „Neue”, a contemporary reinterpretation of Maria Eska’s design. Małgorzata Bartosik also contributed to the digitization process.
